"Retiring from the Army was a real source of stress for me. I wanted to become more marketable, but I didn't know clearly how to proceed. With some guidance and opportunities in the Army's transition classes, I came across the opportunity of going to a PM-Prolearn Bootcamp class. Initially, my unit signed up to host a PM-Prolearn instructor in person, but the unit ended up postponing it to dates not good for me. I had already paid for the class and set aside one week to do the class and discovered on their website that they do online classes! I ended up being able to sign up for the exact same week very close to the exact times I was supposed to be going in person. This was because they have trained and knowledgable online instructors in various time zones who help facilitate the best scheduling for students. I first took the class in the Winter of 2021 with the intent of taking the PMP exam not long after that. Unfortunately, life happened and I had to push off the exam. Luckily, PM-Prolearn also provides opportunities for students to reattend class as long as it is one year from their payment date for the first class. As a result, I was able to go through another online class in the Spring of 2022, take the test (proctored online) from home the Saturday after the class, and pass the PMP exam to become PMP certified! I can't imagine how I would have been able to plan out all of the studying for the PMP exam without the help of the PM-Prolearn team. There's already a lot to think about and do before retiring/separating from the Army without throwing "...come up with a PMP exam training plan..." on my own. It would have just added a level of difficulty that wasn't helpful. Ultimately, I paid out of pocket for the class, but it's worth it to me because I know I've taken one more step to become more marketable in the civilian sector when I start looking for a job. Thanks again, PM-Prolearn team!"
