Catherine ‘Katie’ McBride
PMP
Project management was never something I envisioned for myself, having spent most of my
career in sales. That changed in 2023 when I was put in charge of what I later realized were
projects—and I loved it. I also knew I could do better.
In January 2025, I was given a project from inception to completion, and it failed. That
experience was humbling. My brother, a PMP himself, strongly encouraged me (in true Marine
Corps fashion) to look into PM-ProLearn.
I enrolled in the class with Ricardo Gonzalez at the end of October 2025, and for the next two
months, I lived and breathed project management. I leaned heavily on the guidance of
instructors Earl King, Alan McBride, and Ricardo Gonzalez as I worked through the
PM-ProLearn curriculum. During moments when I was convinced I was failing, they reassured
me, redirected me, and kept me moving forward.
Thanks to their support and the absolutely incredible study plan, I passed my exam on the first
try. Honestly, I’m still in shock. It was the hardest exam I’ve ever taken—and I know without a
doubt it would have been even harder without PM-ProLearn.
Thank you for what you do and for your willingness to guide overthinking adults through their
new normal. You are truly changing lives.
