My PMP journey started in June of 2025 after sending an email to Tim. I had read his article on how to transform Military experience to project management experience. Having worked in aviation, recruiting and many deployments…that article gave me the courage to give it a shot. So, I contacted Ben Watson. He guided me through the GI bill process, got me enrolled in the appropriate course and got me started.
After completing the PM-ProLearn 35 hour PDU course, I learned a lot about the domains, tasks and processes involved with project management. Robert “Earl” King Jr was my instructor, and he was fantastic; thorough and engaging, he made the learning experience much better than if I would have attempted to prepare alone. Further, the PM-ProLearn team are veterans, they know the speak, they know the mindset and they know us.
The biggest benefit for me was not the exam prep (although it was super helpful) …it was the assistance with my application. Robert went through my application, covering 10 separate projects, and helped me transition my military experience into terms that would relate to the civilian sector. The application assistance alone is worth the time and use of the GI bill benefit!!!
